This conference will examine key challenges in this area, including an overview of the current issues, as well as upcoming developments (and opportunities) in the water sector. We will examine what measures are currently required to improve urban wastewater treatment in Ireland. We will discuss the use of flood forecasting to ensure our assets are more flood resilient, and the future shape of flood management in Ireland, as well as current thinking for better urban surface water management, and the use of satellite and rainfall data to improve forecasting and decision-making. Also discussed will be the key issue of water regulation and the CER’s role in this area, as well as key legislation to be aware of and it’s planning implications.
