Building Regulations & Fire safety Engineering - Level 8 Modules - Part-time at CIT< back to events

Cork Institue of Technology are running two part-time level 8 single module building regulations and fire engineering courses starting late January.

Details are below.


Building Regulatory Engineering (On Campus):

​All 12 parts of the Building Regulations examined together with the background legislation.
Delivered over 4 weekends (Fir night 6 to 10) and (Saturday morning 9 to 2) March/April 2020.  For futher details see here

 

Fire Safety Certification (Online):

Fire Engineering Design from 1st principles together with prescriptive fire design of buildings.
Delivered over 12/13 nights (one 3 hour lecture weekly) Late Jan to May 2020.  For further details see here
Admission Requirements: Applicants should hold a minimum of a NFQ Level 7 qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architecture or Architectural Technology or in a cognate discipline.


Fire Engineering Design (Online): 
​Key Fire Engineering design elements of buildings including; smoke control in atria, sprinkler design, gas systems, fire alarms etc. 
Delivered over 12/13 nights (one 3 hour lecture weekly) Late Jan to May 2020. For further deails see here.  
Admission Requirements: Applicants should hold a minimum of a NFQ Level 7 qualification in Civil/Structural Engineering or Architecture or Architectural Technology or in a cognate discipline.

  

CIT hope to add a further fire testing module and then seek approval to combine all 5 modules into a Level 8 Special Purpose Award in Fire Safety Design & Practice.
