The NBCO Q4 2020 Newsletter has recently been published.

Building Regulatory compliance is about adhering to the necessary rules and regulations in order to avoid consequences that would severely affect the health, safety and welfare of people in or about buildings. The quality of our indoor environment in terms of air circulation, light, thermal comfort and water has never been more important as Covid-19 has confined many of us in our homes.

This year, the NBCO enabled online Fire Safety and Disability Access Certificates which improved the ease of doing business and hopefully Irelands' World Bank ratings in obtaining construction permits.

Recently the NBCO took on a National Market Surveillance role for Construction Products which means checks to ensure that construction products comply with EU specifications and do not endanger health, safety or any other aspect of public interest protection.
