An article published on 6th December 2018 by Innovate UK and UK Research and Innovation highlights the need to address the current situation in the UK’s construction industry as it has hardly changed in 40 years.  It is not as efficient as it could be, and faces a looming skills gap brought on by an ageing workforce.

 

Virtual reality, digital design and offsite manufacturing technologies have been identified as the future of UK construction thanks to £72 million investment from the government.
