This project successfully rehabilitated over 5km of 30” concrete trunk main serving Swords and North Dublin and was complicated by its siting through the town centre of Swords. The project achieved this objective by means of innovative slip-lining techniques, with reduced water system shut-downs, reduced traffic disruption, time and cost savings, while delivering water security and leakage savings. The solutions delivered through collaborative working relationships among all stakeholders resulted in minimum disruption, largely through trenchless construction, with optimised health and safety conditions.
