Cronin & Sutton Consulting provided civil, structural and traffic engineering services for the Irish Life Assurance Customer Care Office building in Dundalk, County Louth. The development is Near Zero Energy Building compliant, achieved an A3 BER rating and has also been awarded LEED Gold status. Further sustainable design achievements include the office spaces being arranged over three levels around a central, naturally lit atrium providing impressive lighting levels. The building is also fully air conditioned with raised access floors and suspended ceilings throughout for services and IT distribution. There are photo-voltaic panels on the roof and a rainwater harvesting system on site. The surface car park was designed as permeable car parking, including attenuated car parking bays, which formed part of the surface water attenuation system. Ample bicycle parking and facilities are provided for cyclists.
