The former Guinness powerhouse has been redeveloped as Roe & Co Distillery, a craft distillery and visitor’s centre while where the brewing process can be experienced. The work undertaken by O’Connor Sutton Cronin M&E included a major focus on sustainability and energy efficiency while maintaining the character of the original building. The challenges of maximising natural light and installing feature lighting that successfully addressed the constraints of 7m high copper still pots, were successfully overcome. The use of a computational fluid dynamics simulation software was also key to the delivery of the new ventilation system.
