101 George Street is the world’s tallest structure using modular construction methods. Built in a constrained site, 1526 modules were successfully erected over 43 storeys. The build time was 50% quicker than traditional processes, construction waste was reduced by 80% and 60% less site personnel were required. This outstanding project portrays the best of Irish consulting engineering design and the use of offsite technologies. It has resulted in a benchmark project by Barret Mahony Consulting Engineers in conjunction with another Irish based consulting practice, MJH consulting engineers, for future high-rise design and construction.
