The revised Code of Practice for Inspecting and Certifying Buildings and Works, dated September 2016, has now been uploaded to the website of the Department of Housing, Planning, Community and Local Government (DHPCLG) and can be accessed here

Several ACEI Members had a lot of input into the revised code of practice, and are to be commended for their work and commitment in this regard.

Attached is a document prepared as part of an agreed operational framework for Building Control Authorities (BCAs) to: standardise work practices, systems, procedures and decision-making in relation to oversight of building control activity across the local authority sector; enhance consistency of approach nationally; and to move towards a risk-based approach to inspections by BCAs.  This should be read in conjunction with the revised code.  Document can be viewed here
