As part of Irish Water’s commitment to supporting growth and development, it has published Water supply and Wastewater treatment registers to provide an indication of available capacity at treatment plants.

 

The Water register is provided for Cities, Regional Growth Centres and Key Towns in each of the regions – Eastern and Midlands, Southern and North Western. The indication of available capacity to meet targeted population growth to 2031 is provided.

 

The Wastewater register gives a county by county snapshot of wastewater treatment capacity for all settlements with Irish Water treatment plants and will be updated annually. The estimates are made in relation to the load at the treatment plant in the year preceding the publication of the capacity register.  Further details are available here.
