Roughan & O’Donovan provided civil and structural engineering services for the delivery of a new state-of-the-art, 80-bed community nursing unit (CNU) on the site of the Sheil Hospital in Ballyshannon, County Donegal. The €28.5m scheme comprised a modern extension to Sheil Hospital, with associated car parking and site services. Significant upgrades to the existing hospital building were also undertaken while a dual carriageway southern link road was incorporated into the design to provide a new entrance to the hospital and to ease local traffic congestion.
